Terms of service
The short version: we check it, tell you the price, only start when you agree, and you pay in store when you collect.
About these terms
These terms apply when you book online or leave a device with Fix My Computers, a trading name of Mac Repair Specialists Ltd (company no. 16068050). Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.
Bookings
An online booking tells us what’s coming, or arranges a pick-up from your address. It is not a quote and there’s nothing to pay online. No appointment is needed: you can walk in any day, 10am to 8pm.
Checks and quotes
We check your device and tell you what we think is wrong and the price. We won’t start work until you agree. The check is free: if you decline, there’s nothing to pay and you can collect your device. If we find something else while working, we’ll stop and ask before doing anything extra.
Your data and backups
Please back up anything important before you drop off, where you can. Most jobs don’t affect your files, but some can. We’ll tell you if yours could, and can back up your data for you if you’d like.
Parts and guarantee
Parts we fit are new or of equivalent quality unless we agree otherwise with you. Our guarantee covers the parts we fit and our labour for up to 12 months from collection, and doesn’t cover accidental or liquid damage after the fix, or problems unrelated to the work we did.
Payment and collection
You pay in store when you collect, by card or cash. Please collect your device once we tell you it’s ready. If a device is left with us after the job is complete and we can’t reach you for 90 days despite reasonable contact attempts, we may dispose of or recycle it. We always try every contact option first.
Our liability
We’re responsible for loss or damage that’s a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care and skill. We’re not responsible for loss of data you could have backed up, or for faults that were already there. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law.
Complaints
If something isn’t right, tell us first at info@fixmycomputers.co.uk or in the shop and we’ll put it right where we can. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
